Discover the Fun of Woolworths NetSetGo!

Woolworths NetSetGo is Australia’s leading introductory netball program

for all kids aged 5-10. Our sessions are about jumping into fun,

skill-building, and making friends within our safe, inclusive community.

SKILLS

Net (5-6 Year Olds):

Welcome to the fun! Our Net phase is thoughtfully designed for all children aged 5-6 years. With 45 minutes of fun-packed activities (and some time for free play and drink breaks), these sessions will get little netballers moving, laughing, and loving every minute. Whether they’ve held a ball before or it’s their first time, every child is welcome. The best way to learn the basics is by having a blast, so this program is all about getting active, making new friends, and falling in love with team sports.

MODIFIED GAMES

Set (7-9 Year Olds):

WHITE is our SET phase (Step 1). This is for 7-8 year olds and is often a player’s first time playing netball. Umpires assist with the flow of the modified games in a mentoring and coaching role, allowing team coaches to provide on court support to players. If an infringement occurs in the White division, play is stopped, the player retains the ball, the rule is explained and then play continues.

PINK is our SET phase (Step 2). This is for 8-9 year olds where players are still new to netball, however, we begin to introduce them to the umpire’s whistle and rules as set out in our Modified Rules Summary. If an infringement occurs in the Pink Division, the umpire will blow their whistle, play is stopped, the player retains the ball, the rule is explained and then play continues.

Go (9-10 Year Olds):

BLACK is our GO phase. This is for 9-10 year old players and is the last stage of our modified netball program before players move to junior competition netball. Infringements will be called as per our Modified Rule Summary with the aim of preparing players for the full Rules of Netball.

It is important to remember that the CDNA modified program is non-competitive with a focus on fair play and everyone getting equal playing time. Umpires, coaches, parents and spectators are there to encourage and support players in their netball journey.

Umpiring the SETGO modified program is more of a coaching role NOT an umpiring role.
